13 Players Invited to PDP Event
The ECNL Player Development Program is in conjunction with US Club Soccer’s id2 Player Development Program (ECNL PDP). They also get to attend presentations from leading coaches or experts in elite athlete development. Players are selected for the ECNL PDPs based on their performance in ECNL competitions and recommendations from coaches. The following F.C. CLIVES CORNER
....with Kassi McCluskie (U11 & U18 ECNL assistant coach)
As some of you may know, I was a center back as a player so I am all about defending! Here are some quick easy steps into learning the basics in 1 v. 1 defending:
1. Bend your run in
2. Show them one-way 7. Keep your feet moving
3. Chop your steps 8. Don’t get square
4. Not too close/not too far 9. Bend from your knees not your hips
5. Stay low and light on your feet 10. Be patient!
6. Don’t dive in
