News *Gift of Giving*Clive once stated, “A players ability to pay should not determine their opportunity to play.” The club has experienced much success because of this and the academy hopes to continue this success. Each year expenses rise and FC Portland is determined to never let that affect a player’s ability to play. We would welcome and be most grateful for any contributions toward this effort. Your donations go a long way in helping FC Portland be successful. You’re helping our players with: · Travel Funds · Club Fees · Scholarships · Uniforms · Practice Gear · …and much more! The FC Portland website has created a donations tab where there is a form that can be filled out and sent to the office with your contributions. Click Here for more information. Clubs First Threepeat |
This past fall the U13 girls accomplished something the club has never done before. The girls won the OPL League for the third time in a row. A threepeat with a three-year league record of 29-6-3!
FC Portland Girls Director of Coaching Mike DePinna said, “We are very proud of the O1s. They are an extremely talented and deep pool of players. To win the OPL League title three years in a row is a great accomplishment. Our Navy team also played in the top NPL division and grew tremendously as a team. I have no doubts that if they had played in the Premier Division, they would have won it. Our White team also won the First Division with a record of 10-1-1-. The success of this age-group is a tribute to their hard work. We routinely have 43 girls at training, all working hard and learning the game.”

Bending on the ball
Bring out as many balls as possible to the field. Place the ball at the T of
the end-line and 18 yard box. Practice bending the ball into the goal with the inside of your foot. Do a set of 10 reps, and then switch to the other side of the 18 to work on the other foot. Once you have done 3 sets on each side, move the ball back to the corner kick spot, making sure the ball is on the end line, repeat 3 sets of 10.
Record your scores and keep track of progress over time with both feet.
